Who are we?

Royal Bengal Tea House (also known as RBTH) is a community of artists that was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2014, when a handful of Iranian journalists and Bengali musicians came together to hang out regularly over tea, snacks and music.

The community grew every month as the “Jam session” became a regular phenomenon. Sometimes hosted at a friend’s living room, backyard or rooftop, more and more people started attending the events and the diversity of artists and their performances became more international.

Over the years, the tea house has brought together performance artists that performed in Arabic, Bengali, English, Persian, Portuguese, Hindi, Spanish and Urdu. It also created a platform for new and upcoming artists to showcase their work of art.
